Overview of learning resources
The Science of Survival exhibition is a great springboard for both cross-curricular and subject-focused learning in geography, science, citizenship, social sciences, design and technology. It supports initiatives to make schools themselves more sustainable and helps equip learners to face a changing future.

Learning resources to support ‘The Science of Survival'
On the left you will find an extensive range of downloadable, curriculum-linked learning resources, subject guides and toolkits that accompany the exhibition. These have been created to ensure school group visits are enhanced from both ‘educational' and ‘fun' perspectives and remain in the minds of students - creating learning that stays with them.
In particular the resources seek to help learners focus on competencies and big ideas such as:
Applications and implications of science
Cultural understanding
Collaboration
Enquiry skills
Critical understanding of evidence
Communication
The resources are organised by curriculum area and then by five topic areas covered by the exhibition: Eating, Drinking, Enjoying, Moving and Building. You can approach each topic area (e.g. ‘water') via one subject (e.g. ‘science') or take a cross-curricular approach to one topic area (e.g. use several enquiries to investigate ‘building') or pick and mix any of the activities to suit your needs.
